With Monster Hunter another video game adaptation from Hollywood awaits us, which has not only grown to include a well-known personality but has also found a starting date for the shooting.

Starting in September 2018

Paul W. S. Anderson shots the Monster Hunter film by Constantin Film. The director and producer is no stranger to video game filming: He was involved in both the Resident Evil movies and the 1995 Mortal Kombat film.

As Variety reports, shooting for the Monster Hunter film will start in September 2018, in Cape Town, South Africa. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter has already been recorded here. Milla Jovovich, who is already shooting herself through zombie hordes as the main character Alice in the Resident Evil films, is now also certain to be involved. It is unclear precisely what role she will play in the movie. Variety won’t go into that.

The hero of the film, on the other hand, is an American man who becomes a monster hunter in the film to protect his world from the beasts of a parallel universe. Jovovich could be a heroine at his side or play a different role.

By the way, the creators have a budget of a slim 60 million US dollars at their disposal for the Monster Hunter film. Let’s see if the filming of the action RPG from Capcom Rampage can replace it as the best video feature film currently available. When the Monster Hunter film is released in cinemas is not yet known.
