According to Creative Director Dan Vavra, “Kingdom Come: Deliverance” was considered a “Red Dead Redemption” with a sword.

Dan Vavra, creative director of “Kingdom Come: Deliverance” and co-founder of Warhorse Studios, spoke at Reboot Develop 2018 in Croatia about the creative vision behind the medieval role-playing game. Dan Vavra pitched “Kingdom Come: Deliverance” as “Red Dead Redemption” with the sword.

“I wanted to make the game as human as possible. As we mentioned in our pitches, we wanted to make a Red Dead Redemption with a sword,” said Dan Vavra, also referring to realism. “The game is necessarily slower because if you want to do something realistic, you need more time than in the movie.”
