Ubisoft releases today the update/patch 5 for “Far Cry 5”. Included are numerous improvements, bug fixes and more.

Patch 5 for Far Cry 5

Newly added

  • It is now possible to re-create characters in the avatar customization menu
  • From now on masks and special outfits are also supported in the avatar customization menu

Improved accessibility

  • Subtitles are now enabled by default for all languages when starting a new game

Stability & Performance

  • Several rare crashes have been fixed
  • Fixed a problem where the guest player received a “bookworm” error when sitting in a helicopter after clearing an outpost.
  • Rarely encountered problems with skip sequences have been fixed
  • Problems related to physics when interacting with vehicle doors and weapons have been fixed.
  • Problems that could lead to an endless death loop have been fixed. These include:
  • The problem that the guest player could get stuck in an infinite death loop when the host reloaded a checkpoint in the helicopter was fixed.
  • The problem that the guest player could get stuck in an infinite death loop when the host invited the player while he was in the helicopter has been fixed.

Missions

  • Several rare walkthrough issues have been fixed. These include:
  • Some problems that could cause players to be locked out outside the bunker in the “Ability to forgive” mission have been fixed.
  • The problem that the “Trampelpfad” mission could not be continued under certain circumstances was fixed.
  • Fixed a problem that could cause players to be locked out outside the bunker in the “War Victims” mission.
  • Fixed a problem where players might get stuck in an endless credits loop during the last mission, “Where it all started”.
  • The problem that Mary May did not show up in the car during the “atonement” when the player died while driving to John Seeds Farm has been fixed.
  • Some problems that could prevent the time of day from changing have been fixed. This occurred after the mission “The Purge” was completed or after activating the Outpost Master option.

Sound

  • Minor sound errors have been fixed
  • The problem with missing sound effects and music under certain circumstances has been fixed.
  • The problem that sound effects continued to play in the arcade after a helicopter had already been destroyed was fixed.

AI the companion, opponent & animals

  • General AI bug fixes such as:
  • The problem that the case animation of blessed people was repeated when they were fired at during an auto-resuscitation was fixed.
  • Fixed problem where on-call help did not leave a vehicle’s gun even though it fell into the water.
  • Cheeseburger’s total kill statistics should now be updated regularly

Gameplay & User Interface

  • Smaller bugs in vehicles have been fixed
  • Problems with some animal animations have been fixed. These include:
  • The problem that puma and moose were playing invalid animations when players near them threw out a fishing rod while the animals were in the water was fixed.
  • Fixed some camera problems that occurred when running takedowns
  • The problem that players could get stuck on mountainous ground under certain circumstances has been fixed.
  • The problem with not counting kills correctly for some challenges in certain situations has been fixed.
  • Fixed the problem that the character could be displayed in the Avatar Customization menu without clothing
  • A problem with truncated texts has been fixed for some languages
  • The problem that text was displayed too long under certain circumstances has been fixed.
  • Minor text problems have been fixed for some localizations
  • The balance and statistics of the weapons have been repaired and updated
  • Improvements to weapon animations and hand placement in case players are near a wall

Co-op

  • Various replication improvements such as:
  • The problem that the guest player could see weapons that had already been recorded by the host was fixed.
  • The problem that the arms of the guest player were not in the designated positions when holding the compound bow was fixed.
  • The problem that the helicopter was not displayed correctly for the guest player after the host had switched it off was fixed.
  • General improvements for the Coop mode in various missions. These include:
  • The problem with the guest player standing in the way of the intermediate sequence of the mission “Only You” has been fixed.
  • The problem that the guest player could not see the mission goals of the mission “Where Everything Began” was fixed.
  • Fixed a transition problem that could occur in the “Burn, Baby, Burn” mission when the guest player was in viewer mode.
  • Rarely occurring walkthrough problems for certain missions in Coop mode have been fixed. These include:
  • The problem with the guest player or host getting stuck on the Special Delivery mission loading screen has been fixed.
  • The problem that host and guest players could get stuck during the mission “Air Attack” when the Coop connection was interrupted was fixed.
  • The problem that the mission “The Hero’s Journey” was not updated after Larry got out of the helicopter was fixed.

Arcade/PVP

  • Star ratings now show the given ratings correctly
  • Minor graphic improvements to the viewer camera
  • Improvements in the player search process in private and public lobbies
  • Rarely encountered problems that have spawned players without the selected weaponry have been fixed.
  • The problem that some lines of the PvP commentator were not played was fixed.
  • Several rare crashes in case of a host migration have been fixed
  • The problem that the voice chat occasionally did not work was fixed.
  • The problem with occasional missing player names after a death in a PvP match has been fixed.
  • The balance and statistics of the weapons have been repaired and updated
    Increased map selection time in public lobbies from 35 seconds to 50 seconds

Arcade/Editor

  • Minor bugs related to map creation tools have been fixed
