According to the former developer of Ubisoft, Alex Hutchinson, the multiplayer mode “Battle Royale” successfully established with Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds by Bluehole will be implemented in every shooter soon. Hutchinson, who worked for the French publisher as creative director for the forth Far Cry and later co-founded the game maker Typhoon Studios, wrote about his Twitter account:
Battle Royals is not a game type, it’s a game mode, like death match. It’s easy to build on top of virtually any shooter you already have. It’ll be shipping by default CoD and BF and every other online shooter within a year.

Hutchinson might be right with his statement because currently there are rumors that both Activision Call of Duty – Black Ops 4, as well as Electronic Arts’ Battlefield 5 are equipped with a corresponding mode. According to developer-related sources, Massive Entertainment is currently developing an entirely independent Battle Royale game in the universe of the MMORPG Division on behalf of Ubisoft. At the same time, Massive is currently involved in the creation of Division 2 with six other studios.
