Xur is a weekly visitor in Destiny 2 and brings exotic items you can buy with the in-game currency, Legendary Shards. He shows up each Friday afternoon with new items, in a different place.
This week he is on the towner near the hangar and has the following items. Look below to see if any of them are any of these worth your well-earned legendary shards.
- Crimson, Hand Cannon: 29 Legendary Shards
- Helm of Saint-14, Titan Helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
- Graviton Forfeit, Hunter Helmet: 23 Legendary Shards
- Vesper of Radius, Warlock Chest: 23 Legendary Shards
- Three of Coins: 31 Legendary Shards
- Fated Engram: 97 Legendary Shards
- Crimson – Hand Cannon for 29 Shards
Crimson is a hand cannon that is inspired by the Destiny 1 Exotic Red Death. This weapon has 2 good perks on it. The first, banned weapon, means it fires in a burst. The second and arguably better perk is Cruel Remedy. Cruel remedy heals you when you get a kill, and reloads the gun when you get a precision kill. Pretty awesome. The gun is also better or comparable to the powerful Better Devils hand cannon in the stats area. Overall a fun and decent hand cannon to have.
Helm of Saint-14 – Titan Helmet for 23 Shards
The Helm of Saint-14 is another Destiny 2 Exotic returned. It has the same perks as the previous game. Enemies who enter the ward of dawn are blinded. It also blinds nearby enemies when you use the Sentinel Shield. It is not a bad exotic, but there are better choices out there.
Graviton Forfeit – Hunter Helmet for 23 Shards
Yet another exotic this week with roots in Destiny 1. The Hunter helmet Graviton Forfeit changed quite a bit in the transition due to mechanics changes. The Exotic Perk Vanishing shadow increases invisibility effects and when invisible your melee recharges much faster.
It is not a bad pick, especially if you use the hunter’s invisibility a lot.
Vesper of Radius – Warlock Chest for 23 Shards
Vesper of Radius is a decidedly more useful exotic in PVE. Its exotic perk, Planetary Torrent, releases an arc shockwave when you use the rift. It pushes enemies back and deals damage. It also allows your rift to recharge faster when you are surrounded by enemies. Not too bad, but I feel there are better warlock choices out there, and the PVP application of this exotic is extremely limited.
Three of Coins – 31 shards
Three of Coins increases the drop rate of exotics for 4 hours. If you have extra legendary shards laying around, a little bonus to better drops is always nice.
Fated Engram – 97 shards
This is for all Destiny 2 players who are looking for that last exotic drop. This is only pursuable one time per week and if there are exotics you don’t have that you could get from regular drops for your class, it will give you a random one. If you already have it all, it just gives you a random exotic.
There you go, this is what XUR has to offer. He will stick around Io until the weekly reset on Tuesday so if you see something you want, be sure to grab it before then.
Be sure to check out the most recent big patch notes for Destiny 2 to keep up with game changes. Also, Metro: Exodus, a first-person shooter with a story that Destiny 2 fans will probably like is coming out this year.
