In a recent community event, Treyarch unveiled the upcoming first-person shooter. The creators also provided a big surprise. The new part of the longtime series comes without a classic single player campaign, but with a Battle Royale mode.

Many Nintendo Switch fans kept their fingers crossed during the event that something about a version for the hybrid console might also be revealed. However, it remained until further notice that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will only be available for PS4 and Xbox One.

Black Ops 4 only available for PS4 & Xbox One

The new CoD title is not coming for Nintendo Switch. A developer interview on the website now confirms this. Senior producer Yale Miller and game designer Matt Scronce are asked if there are plans to bring any aspect of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 to the Switch. Your clear answer: “No.”

It was intended to put an end to the bubbling rumor about an alleged Switch release or a release of the blackout mode for the Nintendo console.

CoD: Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12, 2018, for PS4 and Xbox One.
