In Nintendo’s latest financial report, the company announces that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is the best-selling Zelda game to date.

With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Nintendo already received many top ratings from the international trade press for its release a year ago and was also highly acclaimed by fans. In Nintendo’s financial report, the Japanese company was pleased to announce that the title set another critical record.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is now the best-selling Zelda game with nearly ten million copies sold if remakes and new releases are not considered. The RPG sold 8.48 million copies on the Nintendo Switch, plus 1.5 million sales on the Nintendo Wii U. This puts The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess in second place. If the N64 classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time were counted together with the 3DS remake, it would still be unbeaten with over 13.2 million sales.
